To meet up the health requirements of the populace particularly at the gross root level, Multipurpose Health Workers (MPHW) program was introduced, to various tasks significant to the support of health and prevention of disorders with special prominence on Maternal and Child Health Services. The duration of the course is of 2 years.

MPHW program intends to train skillful and efficient health workers to accomplish the goals which aim at bringing about dramatic progress in the health system and health status of the country. Workers in this area need to practice basic health care at a defined level of proficiency in accordance with local conditions and to meet local needs.
